Lt General Abdul Hafiz (Retd) was a Lieutenant General of the Bangladesh Army. He has served as the Chief of General Staff in the Bangladesh Army. During his distinguished military career, he served in three UN peacekeeping missions in Croatia, Côte d’Ivoire and Western Shahara.
Lt General Hafiz completed his master’s degree in defense studies from Bangladesh National University. He completed a course on small and heavy arms of infantry in China and Advanced Infantry Officer’s course in the United States of America. He is also a graduate from the Defense Intelligence College of France.

Md Shafiqul Islam is working as the Executive Director of a renowned national NGO for last eight years. Prior to that he retired from the Bangladesh Army as a Major General and from the Bangladesh University of Professionals; a public university as the Vice Chancellor. He conceptualized and coordinated the flagship UNDP project for Bangladesh Election Commission; Electoral roll with photograph and NID.
